Where the Wild Water Runs

€895.00Price

Where the Wild Water Runs is an original Irish seascape inspired by the rugged landscape and ever-changing Atlantic waters of the Beara Peninsula.

Built up with layers of acrylic and expressive palette-knife work, the sea has wonderful texture and movement. Deep blues, turquoise and sea greens break into flashes of white foam, while two small sailing boats sit against the distant horizon.

The softer blue-grey sky and warm tones of the headland provide a quiet contrast to the restless water below.

Rather than depicting one particular location, the painting is inspired by the wild beauty of Beara — its rocky headlands, open Atlantic and constantly changing light.

The textured surface really comes alive as the light changes throughout the day, revealing the raised marks and layers of paint.
