This is somewhere we actually go swimming, and it's a very special place. Once you're in the water, you're surrounded by mountains, trees and the magnificent Killarney landscape. It has an incredible sense of peace and seclusion — almost as though you've discovered somewhere nobody else knows about.
I wanted to capture that feeling in this painting: the clear blue water, sandy shoreline, rich greens and mountains wrapping around the scene.
