This is a 49x59 cm framed painting I created, capturing the view of Ballycotton as seen from the fields in Garryvoe. I wanted to convey the peaceful beauty of the Irish countryside, using vibrant greens and yellows in the foreground to represent the rolling fields. The darker line of hedgerows and trees guides the viewer’s gaze toward the ocean, where Ballycotton Island with its lighthouse stands against the horizon.
The sky is a soft blue with wisps of white clouds, adding a serene and open feel to the scene. My aim was to capture a warm, sunlit day that highlights the harmony of land, sea, and sky. Through the brushstrokes and colors, I hope to evoke the calm and inviting atmosphere of this picturesque landscape.
